yojimbo Posted July 25, 2008 #28 Share Posted July 25, 2008 However, I think my fondest of our cruise of the East Coast was having dinner served to us on our deck by the butler (Anil) while watching the 4th of July fireworks in Boston Harbor. The only complaint I can imagine anyone having about the Balmoral or other Q1 or Q2 suites is the lack of privacy on the balconies. We have stayed in the NCL Garden Villas as well as penthouses on Celebrity and although these rooms (on the QM2) were much, much nicer, I felt the decks were greatly under utilized not only due to the lack of privacy but to the fact that there was just no real design to them, they were just big open spaces that were visible not only to the people below on the pool deck but as well as to the people above on the QG Deck. xxjs, I was on the July 4th cruise and watched the fireworks from one of the open decks. As I looked down on the pool area, I could see you and your family being served dinner on your balcony. It looked like the four of you were really enjoying yourselves. Decebal Posted July 25, 2008 #29 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the "virtual walk-through" since I doubt I will ever set foot in the grand cabins, when I finally have my audience with the Queen. And who cares (sour grapes anyone?) how you ended up with the cabins??? You were kind enough to share your nice experience and I for one appreciated it. Happy future sailings. Pies4u Posted April 8, 2012 #32 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Only just seen this thread, the original video is fantastic. Many thanks for posting that. Like most others, I'll never stay in 1 of those suites, tho' we are in a Q6 in April 2013 - looking forward to experiencing QM2 after 2 hols on Q Vic. Your posts help to build the anticipation and enjoyment. Good stuff.
north east girl Posted April 8, 2012 #33 Share Posted April 8, 2012 The two suites looked amazing, will never get the chance to try one of them. Did enjoy the tour, I would be overjoyed if I ever got the chance to try one. Catherine

While on a shore excusion we met a couple who were in the Sundringham suite. They invited all of us(from the excursion) to their suite for a cocktail party. Totally beautiful suite. It made our P-1 look like a dollhouse room. Really wonderful unpretentious couple. We also met a gay couple(like us) from England. They were in the Holyrood suite. They would socialise with us, but would never invite us or others up. Got to keep up the status, you know? If we ever chose one of those suites we'd love to host parties. Hi keithm, If we are ever on the same trip and you have a lovely suite we would love to be invited to one of your parties. We have had a Princess Grill suite and loved it, the food and service in the grills was amazing. Just love QM2 and will be back onboard in June for the celebrations in a B5 stateroom can't wait.
