Grand Cayman was hit hard by Ivan, they do hope to get back to allowing cruise ships in during November. The first in will stay there I have heard and it will not have passangers, but serve to supply much needed housing. Check out Caymen Net News for great information!

Cayman Net News has just released a news article stating that they will begin allowing 2 ships a day into Grand Cayman as of Oct. 29th.:) Many business owners are open and ready for business but their concern is over the lack of tour buses and transportation right now. That is why they will only allow 2 ships a day in the begining. :( They said that some of the stingrays were scared away by hurricane Ivan. They are beginning to feed the few that remain and are hoping to attract more stingrays before the cruise ships come back. The housing Safety mentioned is a permanently docked cruise ship to be used mainly for business employees and operators to stay in until they get their houses rebuilt.

The best thing we can do to help them right now is go there and spend some money. Many of the business owners are very worried about the economy and whether or not their businesses will make it. They rely on tourism and without tourists their businesses will go under. Seeing tourists there spending money will give them much needed hope for their businesses and the economy.:)
