car rental near port in Tampa

We will debark on the 26th in Tampa and our flight is not until 7:30 p.m. Is there a car rental agency near the port? We thought we would spend the day in the city rather than in the airport ...

In doing research for our trip out of Tampa, I found that Hertz has a location at the Tampa Marriott Waterside. They also list the Port of Tampa as a location on their website, but when I called to reserve a car, what they told me was that you call their number when you arrive at the port & then they will deliver the car to you. Check w/Hertz to verify this. We decided not to rent a car, because of time constraints, but maybe this info will help you out.

There was all different buses to shuttle you to the rental places.

All rental agencys will pick you up at the port when you dis-embark. Just pick the best rate and contact them. I have used Dollar and they were great. Also Hertz was right there also when we got off the ship. Straight to airport and on my way. Makes it great then drop off car at airport and you are done.
