Fluff Posted July 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Anyone know or know where I can find the height requirements on the water slides on board the ship? I've got one thats going to be heart broken if she's not tall enough.
AMommyof2 Posted July 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2008 It was 42 inches on our Destiny cruise last week. DS was very upset because he didn't get to slide. He was about an inch too short.
Fluff Posted July 22, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Oh no, where they pretty strict about checking each childs height?
mcfam5 Posted July 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Oh no, where they pretty strict about checking each childs height? It depends on the slide what the height requirement is. The Glory slide was 42 inches, the Holiday slide is 48 inches.
G'ma Posted July 22, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Yes, they are strict with the height requirements. They don't want to open themselves up to a lawsuit. If you go to the website and pull up each ship, you'll find the height requirements for each one.
AMommyof2 Posted July 22, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Yes, they checked the little ones. There was someone always sitting at the top of the stairs, watching who was on the slide and turning away any children that were not tall enough. tinabinab Posted July 23, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2008 I was searching for this info a few weeks ago - basically it is 42" if the slide comes to an end at the bottom without dumping into the pool. 48" if the slide dumps into a pool. DD just turned 5, but is almost 46" tall and is thrilled she'll be able to slide on the Conquest. We even went to a local water park last week with similar slides so that we could "practice". :) Here is the link to where I found this on the Carnival site: http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Age_Restrictions_on_Board.aspx
dec2007w3boys Posted July 23, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2008 42" on the Valor and my 4 year old at the time loved it. We couldn't believe the first time he went down it. AFter about an hour, my 8 year old decided maybe he could do it too.
rdler Posted July 23, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Thanks for this information. My little guy (over 42 inches) is dreaming of going down the slide. If the FAQ's say that you can't go down 2 at a time, why did Carnival run all those ads showing Kathie Lee and Frank hugging and smiling all the way down?
