Beach/Excursion Help

Does anywhere offer dolphin swims in St. Thomas/St. Johns? Also, what is the closest beach to the port? Lastly, is Grand Turk a must see? or will we find something just as nice closer to the pier? We are looking for something laid back, beautiful and not overly crowded. We have 5 and 7 year olds, have 3 or 4 tours of islands already scheduled, so want something a little more low key. Thanks so much.

I don't know what Islands you have your tours book for, but not taking and Island tour on St.Thomas is like going to Paris and not going to the efiell tower. If you want you can get a Island Tour right at the dock, I think of all the tours, the kids would like the Spiderman Island Tour best, very colorful tour bus.

No Dolphin swim on STT or STJ, but you can do that on Tortola BVI.

from Havensight Morning Star is closer, or Emerald Beach from Crown Bay.

Never been to Grand Turk.

Thank you! We have tours in Barbados (sea turtles), Dominia, St. Lucia (Cosol Tours) and possibly one more in Antigua, though we might just make that a beach day since we have no days at sea just to veg out. Never been to any of the islands we will be visiting. Thanks for your help!

Most of the negative reviews I read about St. Thomas/St. John are from the people who either never got off their ship or only went shopping while they were there. There is so much to do in STT/STJ and it would be quite a waste to not take advantage of being there. If you are wanting to take it easy, just go to one of the beaches! Try Magen's Bay or Sapphire Beach, or if you feel more adventurous, take the ferry to St. John and go to Trunk Bay. There are so many things to do while in St. Thomas, so don't miss out!

The kids might enjoy Coki Beach too. The last time I was there they were feeding the fish and you could just stand in the clear water and see a ton of fish! Megan's tends to get very crowded and a lot of traveling for small children to go to St. Johns (but it is the most beautiful beach you have ever, ever seen!). Have fun!
