cinticruiser Posted July 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2008 Leaving for this Turkey/Greek Isles/Rome cruise on Aug. 16. Has anyone been on this cruise--is there a recommendation for shore excursions?
Susan-M Posted July 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2008 A couple of forums to check for more info: The Roll Call for your cruise: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=743226 Azamara Boards: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=466 Also, the Ports of Call, Europe/Mediterranean board has lots of discussion on Med ports. khkorner Posted July 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I will be on this cruise as well. I am also trying to decide on shore excursions. Looking forward to responses.
rubinstein2r Posted July 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2008 We did Rome to Athens on June 7-21. See my review for some ideas and contact me if you have any questions. We did some shore exes but also did several ports on our own. I recommend a private guide in Egypt but doing many of the other ports using public transport or walking unless there is a tour you are particularly interested in. Let me know any questions. --Myra in AZ
Debchgo Posted July 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Is there a guide you suggest for Egypt?
rubinstein2r Posted July 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2008 We used DeCastro tours and were VERY happy with them. Our guide was a fascinating young woman named Rehab. I would recommend her. Let me know if you have additional questions. --Myra
Debchgo Posted July 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks Myra! I looked them up on the internet, but their site is under construction. Do you happen to have contact information for them?
rubinstein2r Posted July 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2008 No prob. Our contact in the office at DeCastro was Moustafa Mourad. His e-mail is mouradus2@yahoo.co.uk and his office phone is 002 0225743144. You can use my name (Myra Rubinstein) and let him know how happy we were with Rehab. --Myra
