cyberfilly Posted July 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2008 Is it true that Princess doesn't allow passengers to make advanced reservations for things like the specialty restaurants, excursions, spa, etc.? It seems to me it would reduce the potential chaos of people doing so once they board. We are considering our first Princess cruise next year (very excited!! :p ), having only cruised once on Disney, where we made advanced dining and excursion ressies on-line weeks before we sailed. It made for a very relaxing first day on the ship, knowing the reservations were already made.

I don't know where you got the misinformation, but Princess absolutely allows you to make advance shore excursions. They love it when you do that. As for dining, no, that you have to do on board. But that takes seconds. Pia
cyberfilly Posted July 24, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 24, 2008 Thanks a lot. I didn't see the thread "Shore Excursions - How many days out to reserve?" until just now!! It answered the shore excursion question.
SingerEsq Posted July 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2008 You can pre-reserve shore excursions online under your Cruise Personalizer. I believe they open that up on your personalizer about 90-120 days out. At some point in the same time period, a "Spa Reservation" button will appear on your Personalizer as well. Casshew Posted July 24, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2008 You can also reserve hair, nails & massage/spa treatments in advance.
willysgrandma Posted July 24, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2008 The only thing you have to reserve on the ship are alternate dining reservations and you should do those as soon as you get on. You can pre-reserve spa services, but not all of them are on the personalizer. There will be more when you get on the ship.
Woodmnky Posted July 24, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2008 Do you make specialty restaurant reservations at the restaurants themselves or is there another area set up for this?
Stevesan Posted July 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Do you make specialty restaurant reservations at the restaurants themselves or is there another area set up for this? You can reserve at the restaurant when an attendant is on duty, or you can call from your stateroom.
MSN-Travelers Posted July 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Do you make specialty restaurant reservations at the restaurants themselves or is there another area set up for this? On the day you board, generally in the early afternoon, they set up a work station outside one of the specialty restaurants to take advance reservation for the specialty restaurants and work other dining room assignment issues. Enjoy!
Colo Cruiser Posted July 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Do you make specialty restaurant reservations at the restaurants themselves or is there another area set up for this? You can also go to the restaurants at any time when they are open and make a res. ;)
Toto2Kansas Posted July 25, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Do you make specialty restaurant reservations at the restaurants themselves or is there another area set up for this? There is also a phone number listed in your stateroom for specialty dining reservations. This is the option we normally use and have never had a problem or had to hurry to make them the moment we board the ship. I can see this happening though if you are very particular as to the date and time you wish to visit one of the specialty restaurants though, which we normally are not. willysgrandma Posted July 25, 2008 #12 Share Posted July 25, 2008 You can also go to the restaurants at any time when they are open and make a res. ;) Just don't wait too far into the cruise to do it, because they often book up quickly.
