jeraboa Posted October 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2004 With Nativeway? Thinking about it for our Feb 5 Triumph cruise. I would love any input from anyone who has experience with this tour. Is there a restaurant on the beach to provide food and drinks at Rum Point? Able to get back to the tenders in time for leaving port? Thanks in advance for your help!! BobbieSu Posted October 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2004 It looks like a good thing. I though lunch was provided in the price of the tour. Anybody with first hand experience? Su
mnsawyer Posted November 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2004 Looking for the same information too...is this a relatively new tour? Sounds like a really good one to me!! Would like to know the itinerary for the day with times. Also, what is served for lunch, etc.
mfeenker Posted November 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2004 I don't have all the answers at this time but will be sailing Conquest 12/12/04 and have booked with Native Way $25 pp includes Sting Ray City & Reef Snorkle. Then they will drop us at 7 mile beach or return to the port. I'll post on our return. I had also contacted Moby Dick Tours they wanted $30 pp but offered one more stop I think it was the Counch House (not sure if still exists after Ivan). mnsawyer Posted November 14, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2004 The tour I am looking for information includes stingrays, snorkeling and Rum Point. It's 5 hours and costs $50 including lunch. Rum Point is supposed to be great but the problem is getting there. You have to rent a car or take the ferry from the Hyatt?? I read someone priced a taxi and it was $100!! Nativeway's tour sounds fabulous...to me, the best of all worlds. We've never done the stingray but have been to GC a couple of times. Don't need to be on 7-mile beach again and would like to do something different.
BobbieSu Posted November 14, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2004 Part of an email response from Sharon of Nativeway about the rays, reef and rum "You will be able to select one entree from a grill menu. It includes items such as: grilled fish and chicken, hamburger, hot dogs, and conch (among other things). It is served outside at Rum Point Beach." Sounds good! mnsawyer Posted November 16, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 16, 2004 This the response I received from Nativeway. By the way, I believe I sent it on Sunday and checked Monday night and there was a response from Sharon. The Valor's time in GC is 9:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. and was concerned since the website indicates 8:30 a.m. departure. Just to summarize, it's $50 per person which includes stingrays, snorkeling, Rum Point and lunch - she's listed the choices below. Hi Mary, Pleasant Greetings from Grand Cayman...and thanks for contacting us! First, thanks for your concern and kind words. Both professionally and personally, our recovery is coming along nicely. To accommodate passengers on the Valor, we are moving the departure time (from the pier) to 10 AM. Rum Point does have all the necessary facilities that you need, including bathrooms, bar, jetski, chairs, hammocks, and more. On the boat, we provide bottled water and punch, on a complimentary basis. For lunch, we provide water and ice tea. At Rum Point Beach, there is a place where you can purchase food, liquor and soft drinks. You will be a choice of grilled chicken, fish, hamburgers, hot dogs, conch and salads for lunch. No deposit is required to hold a reservation. However, you will be asked to provide a credit card number to guarantee your arrival. The credit card will not be charged for the tour, just used to insure that you will show up. You will pay on our tour boat. We accept cash, travelers checks, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover.
