Flights from LAX to Rome

Recommended Posts

We will traveling with a group to Rome in Oct. Does anyone know what airlines Rccl uses and about what time you arrived in Rome. We are going in 2 days early and want to know if it is possible to get there early enough to see anything the day of arrival.

Thanks,

Brenda

Just returned from cruise starting in Rome. Flew LAX to Rome and back. Delta was fine. One stop each way...Atlanta going and JFK on the return. We did 3 days in Rome on our own. That was the best part of the trip for me and it all was fantistic (10 day Med cruise). Do Rome!!

Stay away from any flights through JFK if possible. They are famed for late departures and problems. We went San Diego to Rome via JFK on American. Due to a short equipment delay ( they had to check out a faulty light bulb on the plane) we missed our departure slot by 15 minutes. So then we sat on the runway for 2 hours trying to get back in line to take off. If we had a connection in Heathrow, we would have missed it.

do not book air thru the cruiseline. alitalia has nonstop service lax to rome but if you book directly with them it is expensive. we have done swiss air to rome from lax twice and were very happy with them. lax to zurich, an hour and twenty minute layover and a 1:15 flight to rome arriving about 6:45 pm. the alitalia flight gets you into rome at 12:30 so you do have the afternoon available. call 1-800-flyeurope for great prices. i have used them 3 times and have sent many friends thru them as well. bt-travel and kayak not as cheap on lax to rome.
