Insect repellant, % Deet?

I've read you want to make sure to bring insect repellant to Belize and Roatan. Does anyone know the recommended type or level of Deet for this area? I've seen varied levels, 7%, 25%, 98%. How exteme is needed?

I would do 25% and make sure you put it on before you even get off the ship. I didn't know about Belize, but Roatan can be very bad. DH who gets bit by everything got eaten alive in Roatan about 4 years ago. Right now he is just getting over a chigger attack.

I went to the travel clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. They recommended 30% DEET for Belize.
