elpam Posted July 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Another question: it seems like the weather is variable in the Baltic region and Berlin, St. Petersburg, Scandinavia. We are sailing on 8/16. From what I have read, it will be in the 70's, except maybe in Riga. Any feedback, thanks!
vwgolf Posted July 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2008 I'm going around the Baltic next week. Just had a look at the 5 day forecast for this week (28/7 - 1/8) on the BBC website. For where I'm going, the temperatures ranges are as follows: Copenhagen 23 - 28 Stockholm 21 - 25 Helsinki 20 - 22 St Petersburg 14 - 21 Tallinn 20 - 23 Berlin 28 - 31 With the exception of StP where it's raining, bright sunshine is forecast all week. Let's hope this continues!
sailingkiwi Posted July 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Last week, we were travelling in Tallinn, Helsinki and St Petersburg (by ourselves and then on a 9 day land tour of Russia). I have a very good tan! The weather was as follows: Tallinn - about 70F (or 20C), sunny but with a torrential down pour of rain mid afternoon, then it was sunny again. Wore jeans and a shirt and was slightly too hot. Helsinki - about 77F (or 25C), sunny and hot. Clear skys and no wind. Beautiful! Wore 3/4 pants and a light cotton shirt. Perfect most of the time, but hot after a lot of walking. St Petersburg - same as Helsinki or even slightly hotter 3 days out of 4. One day it was cool and rainy. I wore jeans, a t-shirt and a light cardigan. According to our guide St Petersburg only gets 75 days of sun a year.
elpam Posted July 28, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted July 28, 2008 this has been a big help, thanks to all so far. I was going to bring 2 pairs of jeans, but now I am thinking I will need more crop pants.
