Getting things back home with weight limits

Recommended Posts

I need some ideas about bringing things home I buy along the way. We plan on going from Athens to Mumbai and taking a 5 days land extension in India. Therefore, when flying within India the weight limit will be 44 lbs. As we fly international on Business we can take 70 lbs. But, what happens when we get to the Mumbai airport and fly to Delhi? Serious weight limits!! What is the cheapest, most reliable way to ship things home? I looked into the luggage shipping companies and they are very expensive. Has anyone used DHL or UPS to ship back to the U.S.? Expensive, reliable? There has to be some answers. 44 lbs. is nothing. Help! Judy

We AlWAYS ship our luggage both ways... have used "luggage forward," and NEVER had any problems.....Expensive, yes, but beats the hassle of checking luggage these days. Just travel with 2 carry ons for the few days before & after a cruise. luggage awaits us in our cabin.. no waiting in line at customs,, so you be the judge....$$/time/hassle ?????
