SEA SOUNDS Posted October 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Just wondering how do you get around in Miami without renting a car. Staying near bayside market place and wondering if there is public transportation? A bus or trolly??? We want to get to south beach but don't want to take a taxi all the time. Any information would be appreciated. Also-------any suggestions on what to see or do in Miami.

kapeppy Posted October 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Don't know about public transportation but I think a taxi is about $15 each way. It's not all that far away but the traffic can be terrible! Have a great trip!
lizardhowson Posted October 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2004 A simple internet search would have shown you that Miami has an extensive metro bus system. However, as a visitor, I think your best option is a cab since trying to figure out the bus routes you need would be a whole lot harder than typing "public transportation Miami" in the Google search engine. cmjaffe Posted October 21, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2004 don't hold me to it, but I think the "people mover" mono rail has a station near bayside and I think that it goes somewhere near so.beach... that's what I've heard but not taken it there.. only from Hyatt to Bayside. DO know that traffic from Hyatt to So. Beach was horrible though not that far actually. Good luck, Carolyn
moopig Posted October 21, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2004 This site is great! http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/transit/ It tells how to get anywhere in Miami from any starting point (using public transportation)!
