Do they do anything special on board the ships for the 4th july We sail next year on the Summit on the med cruise and does anyone know how many formal nights on the 12 night classical med cruise

We sailed on the Century this July 4. There was nothing overtly special, but I think of 1700+ passengers only 400 of us were American. OUrs was a 12 nt cruise and the formal nts were the second, next to last and ninth. I think the second and next to last are fairly standard. The middle one is a bit flexible. Note that the entire dress code is being modified soon.

Since we were in Europe, we didn't expect anything. We were on our cruise for both Canada Day (July 1) and 4th of July. Both were recognized by the AD during the announcements and appropriate cakes were set out at the dessert area for the lunch buffet, but that's it.

We were just on the June 28, 2008 Summit Barcelona to Venice Classical Med Cruise. They had watermelon cut out like the american flag (and canadian for July 1st.) Nothing too special but they had hotdogs and american flags hanging. July 4th was a formal night for us because it was a day at sea. There were 3 days at sea (one the first day, one after naples, and one after athens) so 3 formal nights, 2 informal, the rest casual.

Hope this helps!

We were on a cruise on the Century for the 4rth of July and although they didn't do anything special on the ship we were delighted to find they were celebrating Carnival on St. Johns. We had an excursion from St. Thomas and were able to join in for a brief and very memorable time. One day we'd love to go back during that time and spend the whole day at St. Johns.
