info/ private tour from Athens pier w/drop off at hotel

My husband and I are taking the Nov 5th cruise on the QV. We'll be disembarking in Athens. Has anyone had any experience booking private tours from the ship that drops off at the hotel in Athens. Cunard will only guarantee transfers if you book hotels through them. We'd like to use Starwood points for the hotel due to the high cost of hotels in Athens.

We used Paul's Greek Taxi http://www.*****/ for an airport transfer and it was great. If the transfer is all you want check it out.

 

For a comprehensive tour with a guide and driver we used http://www.greecealacarte.gr/

and had an excellent guide and great service.

We just used a private service in athens (7/08) http://www.athenstaxi.org/ Jimmy was our driver and he was fantastic. I would highly recommend you contact them.

I just asked for a quote on a minivan for 4 pickup at 9 AM port and then do something in Athens with transfer to airport by 3PM. The cost was 400 Euros. This seems extremely expensive for 6 hours. Any idea of how we could handle the luggage and transfer a little cheaper?

Has anyone ever had a day room in Athens. I have had them on some tours and they were a great pleasure before heading home late in the day.
