Injections??

We are going on Ocean Village in April and stopping in Port Said for 1 day. Health sites state a number of injections are required for visiting Egypt. Should we have these just for one day?? We will hopefully be visiting The Pyramids and will be very careful not to eat anything and only drink water from the ship. Any advice would be very welcome!!

No for one day or even a normal Egypt trip no additional vaccinations are needed.......just make sure your tetanus is up to date.

 

The other recommendations which are Hep A, B Polio etc are unnecessary where you will be going

I should have added this is for the normal non-immune compromised person and as always you should check with your own health care provider who knows you best.

The best advice is to check with your own health provider.

 

As the other poster said no vaccinations are required for Egypt. But for certain travel doctors will recommend some vaccinations. For Egypt some doctors would recommend one or both hepatitus vaccines. And, another one to make sure that it is up to date is tetanus (sp).

 

Again, talk with your doctor about your trip.

 

We have had multiple vaccinations in one day but again your doctors office will help you on that once you figure out what if any vaccinations he/she recommends for you.

There are no required shots for Egypt. Just make sure all your routine shots are up to date. Drink bottled water, soda, or the great Egyptian beer. Eat no raw foods.
