LisaT12 Posted August 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2008 We will be in St. Thomas in 2 weeks. Henry from EEE tours will be our tour guide...we hired him for a private tour....there are 8 of us. From the great reviews and talking with him, we are all looking forward to meeting him. Can any one tell me the things that we really should see and do while we are there. We asked him to give us a tour, and include local stops. Then we will be stopping for some time on a beach and a little snorkeling and finally just a little shopping at the end. BUT....what should we make sure we see/do???? Thanks so much!!
Ms411 Posted August 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Ask him to take you to Blackbeard's Hill. It's not always included in public tours because you have to pay to get into Blackbeard's Castle. But the view, the landscaping, and the restored homes (one from 1760) in the publicly accessible area give you an idea of how wealthy people in the Caribbean lived during those times. The University of Syracuse's Archaeology dept is doing a dig on one of the properties to learn more about colonial living. See if he can take you by some of the gorgeous villa properties so you can see some of the beautiful homes. Most regular tours are restricted to the main road, and homes along that road are on the lower price scale and give people the impression that St Thomas is a poor island - NOT! You're going to see pretty much everything else, because this is a very small island with few roads. Have fun!
