Matt in FL Posted April 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2004 We're taking a RCCL ship for the first time next weekend. Are the gratuities added on a shipboard account like Carnival? garnetjanet Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Yes, they can be. Let the Purser's Desk know that is what you would like to do. They will give you printed "vouchers" to put in the envelopes to be handed out on the last night. It is really convenient and you can always add a bit more cash in the envelopes if someone is deserving. Enjoy your trip! Alexis Posted April 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Hi, You can have the tips added on to your sea pass, or you can give them the tip in cash on the last night of your cruise. It has been said on here that the help prefers the cash. B J Posted April 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2004 You can have your tips added on your seapass account but the crew member only gets a voucher and has to wait a few days before they get their money. Martino Posted April 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I asked at the Guest Realations desk on board and he told me that tips charged to one's CC are included on an employee's next paycheck. They get checks twice a month, so it could be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before they would actually receive the tip.
