All Things Fascination

We have cruise booked on the Fascination in October looking for some photos of common areas, rooms, pool area, buffet, dinning room, and of course the food. If anyone has any capers for the Half Moon Cay and Nassau would be great.

I have never been on a cruise before, and I'm thinking of taking the on this ship that's leaving October 17th. There is so much info here to go thru I hope that my questions won't be too repetitive.

I'll be driving down from North Alabama and was wondering about parking to leave my truck somewhere while on the cruise? Does anyone know how far the parking is away from the docks, how to get to the docks from the parking and how much is the parking? Do I need to pre-reserve the parking or can I just go in and park and pay?

Anything else a cruise-noob should know?

It is not far from the port to the lot, but we usually drop off the people and luggage at the curb adn then one person parks the car and walks back (they have a golf car dtoo). I think it was $15/day in Jan when we went. Going again Sept 19 and can't wait! if you choose to arrive the day before, you can find some hotels wher eyou can park for free during cruise and catch a shuttle if you stay at hotel fir 1night before cruise. We have not done the free parking at a hotel in Jx before

If the parking is within walking distance, that's GREAT! And 15 bucks a day, that's much less than I was expecting.

What I'll probably do is leave here that Friday and drive part way down, Geocaching along the way, and then find a cheap motel on the interstate and then drive the rest of the way on Saturday morning. That reminds me, I gotta remember to get the coordinates for the Geocaches on this islands!!

Thanx for the info!

You may want to start from the bottom up this was my first time creating a blog, lesson learned for next time.

Do you remember what deck you boarded on?

I was reading about those card strip safes, that you can use any card with a magnetic strip on the back. If that's so, then how is that safe safe??? Anyone with a card could open it.

It has to be the same card you locked it with... each time you can use a different card BUT the card you locked it with is the ONLY card that will open it.

Don't use room key i.e. sign and sail card. Some get a walmart card with $5 on it and use it. We generally use one credit card we rarely use, store it somewhere safe.

OR a Wal-Mart or store card with a 0 balance works. I grab one and don't load anything onto it. :-) They are happy to give me one.

Someone that works at a Walmart just posted that Walmart has gotten a little mad about doing that and might get you for shoplifting... I've never heard that but it was posted.

I wonder if an old slot machine card from a casino that's no longer in operation would work.

From what I have read/seen as long as it has a magnetic strip with some sort of info stored on it, it will work. It has to have a way of knowing it is the same card.

Deck 3. One below Riviera

Except at embarkation/disembarkation at home port. It will be onto deck 7 empress deck. All other ports of call it is "deck 3" or I think "0" on the elevator.

Incorrect.

Home port embarkation/debarkation is still done on Deck 3.
