Cakes on Carnival

What's better, the vanilla cake or the chocolate cake for purchase on Carnival?

I just had the chocolate cake two weeks ago, a birthday celebration and it was out of this world.

Have they changed the recipe since they starting charging for them? I ask, because the free cakes weren't anything special, compared to some of the desserts they have. On our last cruise, after dessert, they served the happy birthday cake. Nobody was hungry so we brought it to our room, and then, around 10pm, brought it over to the kids playing ping pong, with forks and napkins. At least it didn't go to waste! I think on the next cruise, I'll ask them to put a candle on one of the desserts............other posters have said they will do this for you.
