MickeyG Posted October 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2004 Is Majahaul Beach an excursion that has to be pre-arranged either privately or on board ship, or is it a place you taxi to and enjoy? Also, is this an area that is kid friendly, with respect to activities. Also wondering if Horseback riding is available at MB? Thanks for any help!!! jean-lynd Posted October 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2004 You can just take a taxi there and I would consider it to be kid friendly. They do have horseback riding but we did not try it ourselves. I hope this helps!
xntric1 Posted October 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2004 Majahual is a tiny fishing village near (1 mile or so south) the pier area of Costa Maya (walking from the ships on the pier, it will be to your left). It is accessible by a foot path, but is a 20ish minute walk. Most people take the taxi-which has to take the long way around. This is not a resort-type area. It is an small village that is reponding to the new influx of tourist and their money. The beach and the water is nice/clean. The downtown road is sand and the buildings along are either concrete block or 'hut type". They house storefronts for souviniers and canteenas. They have activities that families can enjoy together, but it by no means is an area that "caters" to children with waterpark type activites. If you are looking to find a strech of beach to enjoy by swimming and beach play, you will love it. (horses and jetskis are available) We loved the area, felt the laid-back attitude of it was just what we wanted. Is that what every one is looking for --??? bruce-r Posted October 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2004 I would say it is kid friendly, especially if your kids like to play in the water and sand. For us, sometimes the fun you make for yourself if the best kind. larger image larger image I did see horses for hire there too, but didn't try them out. larger image I'm sure you'll have a good time. MickeyG Posted October 23, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted October 23, 2004 ....to everyone for your responses. Majahaul sounds great...laid back, relaxing and fun. I'm sure everyone in our family will find something to do at MB. One final question....what are the food options at MB? More restuarant or bar type places? Thanks!!!!
