bassmomma Posted August 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2008 We will be requiring transfers from airport to hotel in Budapest and hotel to airport in Prague. Anyone have suggestions for booking these transfers? It appears that sometimes private companies are less expensive than booking with cruise companies, ie. Avalon. letsgo39 Posted August 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2008 At the Budapest Airport you could take either the "Zona" taxi or the airport shuttle bus. Both are very reasonable and reliable. Their kiosks are right next to each other in the arrival hall.A couple of years ago the Zona Taxi was about 30 euro and the shuttle was only about 20 Euro for 2 people to the main tourist section in Budapest..DO NOT hale a taxi on the street or do business with anyone who approaches you in the airport. If you want a taxi use only the Zona taxi or once at your hotel have your hotel call one for you. From the airport you should go to their Kiosks to book and than the driver will come get you.We arrived a couple of days early before our cruise and it was easy to explore Budapest on our own. If you have other questions you can check out the Budapest Forum on "tripadvisor".I use that web site all the time when making my travel plans. We used the airport shuttle and we only stopped at one other hotel besides our own.Couldn't have been easier.
