Carolinamamasita Posted August 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I was wondering which beach do you recommend while in Grand Cayman ? 7 Mile or Rum Point ? Which one & why ? would you feel you missed out on one more if you chose the other ? I want to do the Stingray Swim ... and the beach but dont know which tour to choose because I dont know which beach to choose... Also is there a tour Operator that does pics & video ? what are their prices if they do ? Do any of the tours include or have drinks onboard ? I know this is a lot of questions ... but I am so confused about which one fits what I am looking for ... Thank you Carolina:o
kelligirl Posted August 20, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2008 My family and 10 others that traveled with us used nativeway tours for the Rum Point, Stingray City, Snorkel Tour. FANTASTIC:D ! My 2 teenaged daughters who originally weren't going to get off the boat in stingray city ended up in the water not getting enough of it. Rum Point is by far the most beautiful beach I have ever seen and there were probably only about 10 other people there when we visited. We were served a nice lunch and sodas and we purchased some beer. I don't remember the name of our guide with nativeway, but they were professional and knowledgeable and I would use them again in a heartbeat! It depends on your definition of a beautiful beach. Rum Point is more "secluded tropical island getaway" with shade trees and hammocks...it's much more rustic feeling. This site probably has the best pictures of the area, although some facts are a bit out of date - http://www.caymankaivacations.com/RumPointBeach.htm Seven Mile Beach is a long sandy stretch of beach, with no trees near the water. It's much more commercialized, and is where the majority of hotels and resorts are located. You can check out the beach cam at http://www.reefgrill.com to see a good view of what Seven Mile Beach generally looks like. It stretches for about five miles or so, and fits (to me) more closely the stereotype of "caribbean beach" than Rum Point does. Both are great beaches, but it depends on what you're looking for in a beach...
