CassNCourtsMom Posted August 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2008 We are trying to decide what excursions we want to do on our cruise in October. We are doing the Exotic Western on the Glory and we know we want to go snorkeling. My question/concern is for beach activities, I have a good camera that I want to be able to use for the scenery and stuff, but what do I do with it while we are in the water? What does everyone else do?
SouthernCaribbean Posted August 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2008 Many beaches offer lockers.
serene56 Posted August 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2008 I would not take my expensive camera into the port unless I know that someone will sit with it while on the beach-- even with that== sand and the salt water cold play havoc with your camera. Going to the beach-- we take the throw away kinds.. (ps-- attach a luggage tag to your camera case -if you leave it somewhere hopefully the person who found it will return it to your cabin
gazingm42 Posted August 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2008 We solved the same issue by purchasing a olympus 700w underwater camera. Thus we don't need to leave it on the beach. Plus it takes nice pictures on land as well.
cruisetobeaches Posted August 24, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2008 We are fortunate that we go in a group and all have different activity interests while at the beach, so there is always someone to look after things. As already mentioned, some beaches have lockers. Although some I have seen did not exactly look "sturdy".

Plus it takes nice pictures on land as well. Isn't that a great camera. I love the pics, including the underwater ones and never have to worry about the sand. Just give it a 10 minute fresh water bath when you get back to the ship.
Leo Jay Posted August 24, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2008 If not an underwater camera, a good waterproof casing for your conventional one.
