Harrison's Cave without a tour

We did that several years ago. We hired a cab to take us to Harrison Caves, wait for us, and then take us to Folkestone beach. We told the concession lady at the beach what time we wanted to leave, and a taxi came. It is also possible to go out to the main road and take a bus back to port - there are discussions on the forum about this as well.

You might want to check if you can reserve tickets for a particular time because of any cruise ship tours. You ride through the caves on a tram, so the places are limited and I'm sure the caves back up during the day. If you can't reserve, then you want to get off the ship first thing and go so you are there ahead of everyone else.

We arranged the cab at the tourist desk in the cruise terminal. I'm sure we paid more by not going outside the terminal to the taxis (this is described elsewhere on this forum), but that was not possible to do with my elderly mother.

Thanks. We will keep that in mind. Luckily, we are the only big ship in port that day and then a little 300 person ship. I'm not positive what we want to do yet, so this gives us an option to play it by ear.
