MizzCard Posted October 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2004 Does the cruise line just do it? I've been booked for months for an inside cabin, still have 6 months before sailing.
Lynnees Posted October 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2004 The cruise lines used to move insides to outsides so they could resell the insides. I don't think that's happening anymore unless you have a guaranteed booking. The best and cheapest way to get an upgrade, if there are any available on your sailing, is to get to the port early and see if you can buy one if you're ship is not sold out. The prices are not too bad. Marilyn
beachchick Posted October 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2004 RCI (and other cruise lines, but I don't know exactly which ones) very rarely upgrade pax anymore. You can, as mentioned above, try to upgrade at the pier. This is usually cheaper than upgrading beforehand. You can also watch the price on your cruise and snap up an upgrade if the rates drop. You would still pay any difference though. Just don't expect a free upgrade. beachchick
MizzCard Posted October 25, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Thanks for the advice. Was first to book this cruise and we got a nice little inside cabin, nestled in one of those "out of the way" corridores. Doubt I'll upgrade, just making sure the cruise line won't do it automatically thinking I'd prefer an oceanview or something.
