We'll be visiting the Bahamas (Nassau and Freeport) in December and are looking for shady beaches, like Rum Point on Grand Cayman. Does anyone have recommendations? We don't mind paying for beach access.

Thanks in advance!

GBI(Freeport) does not have many "shady" beaches that are easy to get to. Our Lucaya beach is in front of the Westin/Sheraton complex and does have "clamshell" type lounges that are for rent. You may have to pay a fee to use the resort's pools/restrooms. Viva Fortuna (Wyndham) is a AI that has some shade but not much... although you walk away from property and you will find little spots that the shade does come much near the beach... very rustic though.
