Newbie in J - Biking?

A couple of questions for the wise crew:

I have lurked on this board for awhile reading posts about a 'safe' J experience. Besides the usual panhandling what should one expect in J?

My wife does not want to do the Dunn's River Falls. Instead I was thinking of a bike tour (narration below). Has anyone done this bike tour? Given the latest hurricanes and 'safety' issues would this be advisable?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

NARRATIVE TEXT:

This is an excellent combination of biking, sightseeing and swimming. The tour bus will transport you to a height of 2000 feet above sea level, where your biking guides meet you. After a short orientation you will be assigned your bike. The ride is mainly downhill through woodland and meadow to the village of Mount Zion. Next is a thirst-quenching stop at the Spicy Grove Tavern, before again pausing at a beautiful mountain spring. Pass the ruins of a 17th-century sugar factory, then alongside the Polo fields, and finally stopping at Chukka Cove, carved out of the rock, for swimming or relaxing.
