SKY just back 8/25

Quick post I am still in Florida.

We had wonderful weather throughout the cruise.

Stayed in Nassau intil 1AM, repairs to the ship had to be done

There are now umbrellas at GSC. Set back on the tables and near the hammocks.

The buffet does need help as other posters have mentioned.

Loved breakfast in the Palace restaurant for Balcony guests. Best of both worlds buffet and hot items were served.

BA Cabins are larger and BA balconies are larger with new blue chairs on the balcony.

Air conditioning worked throughout the ship.

Our BA cabin did have an AC problem, but the staff on the Sky went out of their way to insure our comfort.

We enjoyed our cruise, and found everyone on staff, on the SKY, to be wonderful and accomodating to all our needs.

Any questions I will try and answer.

Thanks "LORI" Glad to hear you still had a good time despite your Air Condition problems (Which does worry me) If I may ask you ?? Which Balcony Cabin # did you have ? Were all the Aft Cabins effected with the A/C problems or just yours that you knew of ? Did they ever get it fixed while you were still on the ship ? Thanks for the review and if you don't mind being bothered with answers to a few of the above questions that would also be great.:) Thanks once more and have a great night ! :D

Lorri: did they tell you in advance that you were going to be staying in Nassau until 1am?? I am just wondering b/c the last time I was there we had all day/night so I could do a beach break and then blow some $$$ in the casinos. This time we are only there until 5 so I guess I could start hoping now for a breakdown LOL!

I was on this cruise as well. The Capt. made the announcement about Nassau that morning first thing. A major part for one of the boilers was being flown in, and the engineers could only install it while the ship was docked.

We had Balcony rooms 0049 and 0050. Ice cold A/C, and the toilets worked fine. REst of the ship was quite cool, as well. We also enjoyed the special balcony dining room/buffet.

My only complaint was about the front children's splash pool. For some reason, it is hooked in with a nearby hot tub, and the water is EXTREMELY hot!!!! My young kids dunked a toe in, and then refused to use it (not really refreshing on a 95 degree FL afternoon!). Every other child we observed trying it out also refused to stay in....!!!

Otherwise, we had a wonderful cruise.

We were worried too Mr Jailerman. When we first checked into our cabin #0067 our aft neighbors also were complaining that the room was hot as well. We were told that all the rooms had been opened for cleaning and it would cool off. They did send someone up that evening to check and fix it. Our neighbors cabin was fixed and they said it was quite cool. Ours was cooler but still not comfy.

They did try on night 2 to fix our AC again, they removed the coil and brought up a new one. They did give us a cabin to sleep in while they fixed it. I was traveling with my parents and my Dad stayed in the cabin while they were fixing it, but Mom and I went to the other cabin to sleep. But by the morning of Day 3 they did move us to other cabins.

As far as I know it was only our cabin that couldnt be fixed. And from what I read on the boards with the upsells on the Cabin it probably still isnt fixed.

Thriftycruiser: The breakfast in the Palace was only opened to Balcony guests they did swipe your card to enter.

Cruisindiz: Yes the captain made an announcement early in the AM, that we would be staying in Nassau later.

We had a wonderful cruise and I do believe the Staff on the Sky and NCL are actively addressing the problems and instituting some changes to make their customers happy.

We had the opportunity to enjoy all the pay restaurants and Crossings for dinner. Our favorite was Le Bistro. If you go ask for Charlotte she was wonderful.

The buffet area was not appealing to us but we did eat lunch up there, by supplementing with pizza and burgers.

Hello, "BB" Cabins are Balcony cabins on deck 10 and that's what you have. The "OP" was in a "BA" cabin which are all the way Aft (Back) of the ship. They are the 5 Red colored Cabins on the ships Deck plains on deck 8,9,10. They cost a little more (But not that much) Then the "BC" and "BB" Balcony cabins. The "BA" have larger Balcony's due to being deeper and for that reason in addition to having two chairs and a small table they also have one lay down lounger. Hope this helps out..:) Have a great day.

Hello to you both!!

BA cabins have larger Balconies and the interior of the cabin is slightly longer than the BBs and BCs. Our BA cabin had 2 new blue chairs and a table, there was no lounger. We didnt get a chance to ask for one with our AC problems. We were moved to BC cabins and thats when I noticed the difference in the interiors (I already knew the aft balconies were larger having sailed on several ships aft). The BC balconies had old small white chairs and a table. The doors for the BA was a sliding glass door. The door for the BC opened out (similar to the Carnival ships) with a round window next to it.

Hope that helps

We just got off today and we had a BB Deck 10 stateroom with the new balcony furniture. The staterooms below us on deck 9 did not have the new furniture yet (we leaned over to see, lol).
