Hi .... Just found out we are going to Bermuda instead of Bahamas & FL. I really was looking forward to going to Atlantis., had a room booked and everything. I was wondering if the whole time we are in Bermuda if the ships casino will be closed.

Also, once they change it can they change it again if the weather got better?

Thanks for any info

Eileen

WOO HOO FOR YOU:D - Bermuda beats Florida/Bahamas any day of the week......We've been there numerous times and fall in love with the island alll over again. Gorgeous beaches, friendly people, old towns (St. George's) - I could go on and on.

You have no idea yet how lucky you are.........

I am hoping we get so lucky, can't figure out where the Sky will go. Have been to Freeport and Nassau before and wouldn't mind Bermuda even if it was our only port. Go check out those port threads and have a great time!

for a 3/4 day cruise Bermuda would be the only port!

Thanks everyone for the info!!! I just have to get used to the change and cancel my booking at Atlantis. It was a free room I just had to pay the taxes so worst case I will get stuck with paying 70 bucks. I heard it costs NCL more money to go to Bermuda so I guess we are lucky.

Thanks again

What does pvsa mean?

Passenger Vessel Services Act(aka misnomer the Jones Act)...its the law that says a foreign flagged vessel may not stop at any US port other than the one it leaves from without stopping at one foreign port.....assuming a round trip to the same port..

Total newb question but wouldn't Cozumel or someplace west work fr the Sky? Looks like Gustav would be past by Monday. (Excuse me, I've never really been south or east of LA - well Arizona but not many nautical events there!)

so if this is right and its 367 nm that can be done in day with time spare....so I change my first post and say they can also make Mexico....as long as Gustav actually clears

its two days each way...not enough time for anything....

U.K. - Bermuda - Hamilton *Sat 1:44 AM1666 km1035 miles900 nmsa5.png

its 900 nautical miles each way. at full speed which is about 22 nm you get there in 40 hours. leaving Monday at 5 pm, this puts you at Bermuda at 9am Wednesday. To get back by Friday 8am you have to leave wednesday at 4(5 pm local time) pm.....so you can make it at full speed as long as you don't have to slow down..

Just returned from Bermuda on the Majesty and our port was St. George. If your port is Hamilton you still should go to St. George. For only 7 hours we have two suggestions:

1. Walk around St.George and go snorkling at Tobacco Bay. It was some of the best fish we've seen in a long time!

2. Buy a bus pass and go back and forth on the island; St.George, Hamilton, Horseshoe Bay and the Dock. You'll really get a good idea of how lovely Bermuda is very quickly.

3. Do NOT rent a motor scooter!! A woman broke her femur bone on our ship when the bike hit a curb and fell on her leg. It's really curvy, hilly and driving is on the opposite side of the road.

You are very lucky to be going to Bermuda! Enjoy your seven hours! It's well worth it!

Its the Spirit that may only have 7 hours. It will dock in the Dockyards(by Ferry its almost an hour each way from the Dockyards to St george) I don't think this makes sense..

Seven hours in the Dockyards I suggest get the bus pass take the Bus to Horseshoe beach spend about 3 hours there take a cab to hamilton walk around its the Capital have tea at one of the places facing the water and Ferry back to the Dockyards...
