AFAMILY Posted August 30, 2008 #28 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Hi .... Just found out we are going to Bermuda instead of Bahamas & FL. I really was looking forward to going to Atlantis., had a room booked and everything. I was wondering if the whole time we are in Bermuda if the ships casino will be closed. Also, once they change it can they change it again if the weather got better? Thanks for any info Eileen You really lucked out. You will love Bermuda. Make sure you get the Bus/Ferrry pass. It's the best way to get around this beautiful island! Have fun on your cruise! :)
ktpc2005 Posted August 30, 2008 #29 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Sky to the Bahamas dows not look good according to the weather channel's updated projected path: Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Hanna was centered about 265 miles east of Grand Turk Island as of 2 p.m. EDT. Maximum sustained winds were 50 mph. Hanna, being sheared by moderate upper-level winds, remains somewhat disorganized. The forecast, however, calls for Hanna to strengthen somewhat as these winds decrease during the weekend. The storm is expected to track westward to west-northwestward through tomorrow. Hanna is forecast to become a threat to the southeast Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands sometime tomorrow and for that reason tropical storm watches have been issued for those locations. salty dingo Posted August 30, 2008 #30 Share Posted August 30, 2008 A client of mine just left on a diving trip to Grand Turk. I hope this storm does not get too close to there! I guess that's the chance you take this time of year. At least on a cruise ship you can avoid the storm, unlike a land vacation.
NowVoyager908 Posted August 30, 2008 #31 Share Posted August 30, 2008 As much as I enjoy stopping in the Bahamas (hell, I'm happy with almost any port), Bermuda is my absolute favorite island. And the great thing about being there for more than a couple of hours is that you get the chance to really explore. Sorry for all those looking forward to Nassau and/or Freeport, but Bermuda is great substitute. Wish I was going. ;)
