NZ Diving

We're doing an Australia New Zealand cruise in mid-November to Sydney, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Tauranga, and Auckland. My husband is a diver, and is a little bummed that we aren't going to the Great Barrier Reef. I found a few dive options for Sydney on the web, but haven't seen anything for New Zealand. Do any of these ports have good dive options, or is he going to need to skip diving this trip?

There are lots of diving sites in New Zealand, a lot of people dive both for recreation and to gather sea food. The water will be a lot colder than what you may be used to, you will need a full wet suit.
