stopgo Posted August 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2008 As anybody been on a cruise to find a celebrity on the same holiday, I don't mean somebody who is part of the crew but a paying passenger. Last year I was on the Arcadia and was on holiday with Sue Lawley. My wife can out do that, in the sixties she traveled on the Cambara with Carry Grant as a fellow passenger across the Atlantic. CASPALL Posted September 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2008 The guy who played Ted in "Hi di Hi" was on the Ventura in June. Saw the author Leslie Thomas on Oriana a few years ago.
Pontius Navigator Posted September 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2008 There's me of course. Lord Archer cruised with us on the QE2 and that little Yorkshire conjuror's wife, can't remember her name, cruised with us to the Canaries. Other than that, it is nice to travel incognito and largely unrecognised.

Gavin Our table companions on last cruise have sailed on same cruise as Jimmy Saville, a most obnoxious bloke they said, who wore his tracksuit all the time, even formal nights and even his obe gong round his neck... people avoided him in the end, they said he was a right pain!
LibraLass41 Posted September 2, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2008 Read on one site that this chap had Ken Barlow from Corrie in the next balcony cabin to him on a pando cruise. He used to sit on his balcony and play the corrie theme tune on his lap top when ken was out there, lol !!

Pontius Navigator Posted September 2, 2008 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2008 'longest soap' I recall using salt water soap as ordinary soap would not produce a lather. A famous passenger on one of my earlier voyages was Fraser of North Cape. True.

jakks360 Posted September 7, 2008 #12 Share Posted September 7, 2008 Not on a cruise, but when I was staying at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester last year, the entire England football team plus a load of famous old footballers were in the bar - apparently - being totally NOT interested in footie, I had to be told who they were!
