Moby Dick or Captain Marvins

We haven't tried Moby Dick so I can't comment on that, but we took Captain Marvin's Stingray City tour about 3 weeks ago and it was great. We made 2 snorkel stops at reefs before heading to Stingray City. The crew was friendly and knowledgable and the number of people on the boat was just right. I would highly recommend Captain Marvin's, and you can even reserve online at: http://www.captainmarvins.com/. Enjoy!

We were on the 2.5-hr tour with Capn Marvin's eight days ago. The bus picked us up at their office promptly at 8:30 and the driver gave us a "tour" as we drove to the boat. Not really much to see - he named all of the resorts we passed and he talked about the large number of banks (300+) on the island.

The boat captain and his crewman were great on our trip. We were a party of six (4 adults, 2 kids) and there were two other couples traveling together from our ship on the tour with us. We had one snorkel stop and then Stingray City. There was no hard sell of the DVD. When the captain introduced the crew, he introduced the videographer and told us that we could make our own photos. The videographer took about one minute to explain to us what he would be doing during our stops and told us when we saw the camera pointed at us, to "wave and react". After we finished at Stingray City, he spent about 1-2 minutes telling us that he would edit the video, add music and send it to us on DVD for $56 (we used Visa - cash maybe a few $$ less). He connected his video camera to a small TV and played the raw footage for us to view as we rode back in. Again, no pressure at all! We thought it was a great documentary souvenir of our trip and purchased one. The other group purchased one also.

By the way, one of the ladies in the other group asked how we found out about CM. Naturally, I told her about Cruise Critic and asked her how they came to book the CM tour. She said her travel agent, a former PVP for Carnival, recommended them. She said her TA told her that Carnival employees advise their family and friends to use CM when in Grand Cayman.

We got to meet and take photos with Captain Marvin himself at the end of our tour.
