Voyager Ships

Recommended Posts

Timing is everything. If you can go when demand is down you will get a better price. I don't think the summer has the best prices because kids are off school. I have kids and spring break is expensive for the Caribbean. Right now there are good prices on the Voyager to Canada in May and early June ($399 inside room guarantee). I also was looking for a "cheaper getaway" with my husband. Am also from Chicago, and there are usually decent airline fares to the east coast. The Canadian 5-day leaves from Bayonne, NJ closest to Newark airport.

Where did you get that price from?
We are going on a cruise in August w/ family and I too am looking for a cheap getaway just w/ hubby. I don't know if I'd enjoy a cruise to Canada. Have you been?

We booked the Navigator for a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise for Oct 16th. The price for an inside cabin was $599 and included port charges.(Add'l $35 tax was added).
We've been on the Explorer twice and just love these big ships!

We got a very inexpensive rate on the Adventure of the Seas last Sept. Of course, we then had to pay for airfare to San Juan. Fortunately, my husband always wanted to go to San Juan, so it was no problem talking him into that. The end of hurricane season is always cheaper, but there are risks that you won't get to the advertised ports. Since you don't care about ports, that shouldn't bother you. Check the Cruise Critic bargains, and check RCCL's website for Hot Deals for these ships. Cheapest times are the end of hurricane season, and the weeks in between Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Adventure of the Seas 9/21/03 - wish I was still there!!!

The price of the VOS 5 night cruise to Canada departing May 15th has dropped considerably since we booked. If you're prepared to go soon, you may want to check it out.

We've been on Voyager twice, both times Western Caribbean itinerary, in the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We got great rates for a balcony cabin for those dates. The downside was that the weather wasn't the best-- but the ship was so wonderful, it almost didn't matter.

Kaylasmom-Voyager 5-night Canadian out of NJ has good prices May 16, May 30 and June 13. You should be able to find them no matter how you book. I didn't find much difference in price between on-line cruise companies or large travel sites. If you have a travel agent--use him/her. About the weather, there is some risk it could be rainy/foggy. Think about Alaska--it is far more expensive and you could potentially not see much due to weather. At least if you do Canada the price is low. Also May and June are not the rainiest months. If the boat is most important to you why worry about the weather.

We went on a 5-night Canada cruise from NY last October. The weather was cool and cloudy most of the week. Even got into hurricane force winds and missed our stop in Bar Harbor. But we were on Serenade, what a beautiful ship.

We were able to get in the hot tubs and swim in the Solarium pool until 3 am. Some people got in the outdoor pools during the day. There is still plenty to do no matter what the weather.

I got an excellent rate sailing to the Western Caribbean last October. We were able to get a low rate of $625pp in a balcony cabin from buycruises.com.

The weather was wonderful that time of year.
