Solo cruiser in Belize - what to do?

I'll be going solo on my next cruise and I'm really excited to be going to Belize. I chose this cruise specifically because it goes to Belize and this may be my only chance to visit.

I'm having trouble deciding what to do there. I have to take into account my personal safety - therefore, don't want to hire a private guide. I like snorkeling but I usually don't since I'm not a strong swimmer and I don't have a buddy. I've seen Mayan ruins. Don't want to lay on the beach all day. Is cave tubing something that would be OK for a solo cruiser?

What are your suggestions for this maybe once in a lifetime visit?

I love it. We just got back from our cruise. We went to Xunantunich last time so we'd done the Mayan ruin thing too. We booked cave tubing with Cave-Tubing.com. Yhony was great. It doesn't require any swimming as you are floating in a tube and only your butt is in the water.

You are in a group of people so it doesn't matter if you are solo or in a group. I loved it and it doesn't take all day (depending on how long you are going to be in Belize). So we took the bus through the country which was great to see all the mango trees and houses especially once you left Belize City.

About an hour ride in a nice bus there. About a 30 min walk through the rain forest--which to me that was more once in a lifetime than the caves were. The Caves were beautiful but the rain forest was amazing. Then about a couple hours back. If your cruise doesn't leave til later (ours left at about 3...booo), you'd have enough time to do something else in Belize as well.

Belize has some of the best snorkeling around. I would not past up the

chance to take a tour to go snorkeling. Depending on the ship you taking

there several options. There another thread on Geoff Caye. Its a very small

island they take you to which you can walk into the water and snorkel.

I would highly recommend it as it gives you the sand n beach and water option.
