Where to buy wine in Vancouver??

Recommended Posts

My parents will be cruising out of Vancouver and they've never been to Canada. My mom is wanting to buy a bottle or two of wine before they board the ship. Where can she get it? If they have a cab from the airport, can you get wine at a local grocery store or do you have to go to a liquor store? Can she find some in the airport? Are there any days where you can't buy wine (in some states in the US, you can't buy alcohol on Sundays). Please help out a clueless individual!!

We bought wine here, as it was only a block from the hotel at which we stayed:

I don't think you can buy wine in grocery stores in Vcr. As shown in the pic of the wine shop, there's a cross street where the cab could wait for them -- it is right on the way to the Canada Place dock.

There's a map and "business hours" on this page:

At least now you have one option. I'm sure PutterDude and UrbanTrekker will be along with some others.

No beer, wine or liquor sales in grocery stores and most government stores are closed on Sundays and holidays except the one located on Alberni St in downtown Vancouver - there are a number of private beer and wine stores in the downtown core and they will be opened on Sundays.

There the Liberty wine store near the Blue Horizon/Pacific Palisades.

There is the afore mentioned one at the Sutton Place

There is one on the Hornby St side of the Sheraton Wall Center

There is Marquis wines on Davie St.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Dennis

One of the closest BC Govt liquor stores (to Canada Place) is on the lower level of Harbour Centre at the corner of Seymour and Cordova (on the Cordova street side).

There's also a beer and wine store at the Granville Street skytrain(subway) station, at the lower level, at Dunsmuir & Granville.
