DON M. Posted September 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2008 If you pre-book excursions on the web site, is the cost put on a credit card and paid for ahead of time? I want to use some OBC to pay for excursions, do I wait until we are on board?
wrp96 Posted September 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2008 Yes, if you prebook excursions, you have to pay with a credit card when you book. If you want to use OBC to pay for excursions, then you have to wait until you get onboard the ship to book. RCCL will usually reserve 30% of the spaces on an excursion for onboard booking, but don't always if there are a limited amount of spaces (for example, on our Alaska cruise they offered a glassblowing excursion with only 10 total slots, and none were reserved for onboard booking). If you want to wait to book onboard, then board as early as possible and head immediately to book excursions.
cb at sea Posted September 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2008 Yes, you will pay when you book--you don't have to use the same credit card that you will use on the ship. If you want to use your OBC, you'll have to wait until you board. If you don't spend all of the OBC, it will be returned to you as a "refund"--so if you use the same credit card that your account will be tied to, it will all work out the same, when all is said and done! Does it matter what the credit is from? We are using OBC from our Royal Card, so if we don't use part of it it will pay our Royal Card back (that is what will back our SeaPass)? Just making sure. We just had first part of the OP's question answered today! I thought of not using my Royal points, not sure if I could use over $200 OBC!!
