Hi All

Can anyone recommend an operator to VNP? Not wanting to rent a car.

Thanks

Don't know what ship your on but here are two that we used in January.

http://gorabbitgo.com/ this company is tied to certain cruise ships, go in and see if your ship and date is one of them.

The other company is http://www.robertshawaii.com/index.php

Both of these companies are called "Roberts Hawaii" they are owned by the same company but run indendently with different call centers. They are extremely experienced, reliable and knowledgeable.

I doubt that any one on CC that has used them could post any negatives.

We did back to back cruises (2weeks) and used them for all but one excursion and saved 40% over ship prices.

We were on the POA a few weeks ago and did a VNP tour through the ship from the Hilo side. I believe it was Discover Hawaii Tours that did the tour. Anyway, it was a great tour as the driver/guide was fantastic and of course the scenery amazing. The drivers name was Jane-very knowledgeable about the area and amused us with Hawaiian facts, ect. Of course there was not enough time there, would love to spend a week there-but a good overview of the park and its very active right now! We went to the visitor's center, a lava field and the macadamia nut factory. It was well worth the price. Enjoy your trip. Pam;)

Since you asked I'd recommend Mabuhay Tours in Hilo. Nonoy was very knowlegeable and he waited for the general public getting off the ships at the dock. He was one of the tour vendors waiting off the dock. It cost 40.00 per adult and half price for the kids and it included: VNP tour(caldera center), Akaka falls, lava vents, Thurston's Lava tube, small orchid nursery, small Hilo coffee store/farm, Mauna Loa nut factory, small town tour, and 2 bathroom breaks. Next day we decided to have him meet us all in Kona at the Kona Beach Hotel and he showed up and had him for 4 hours that day. He took us to Hilton's to watch Dolphin encounters, some of the group went to snorkel, saw St. Benedicts painted church, small coffee store that contained lava tubes, went by King Kamehameha statue. This was back in summer '06. 1(808)895-3945, 1(808)961-3195.
