pennies Posted September 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2008 Hi all, we are going on our first cruise with RC on 20th sept, however with all the storms hurricanes out there I dont know what to pack :( We are travelling from Ireland so I will have to pack properly as I have luggage limits to stay within. Have bought lots of nice summer clother, dresses as I thought I would be basking in the carribbean sun however dont know what weather to expect now. Any advice anyone? on what type of weather we should expect, thanks:)
cb at sea Posted September 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2008 It will be hot--don't worry! Simmer clothes are what you should be packing. This is the tropics, it's hot all year! Hurricanes don't happen in cold weather!
JanineM Posted September 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2008 Even if you have rain, it will still be very warm. After the rain it will be steamy! You will probably want to bring a lightweight rain jacket of some type (even one that folds up into a pocket). When it rains it can really rain, but it does not get cold by any means. Right now there are no tropical systems other than Hurricane Ike, which has already cleared the Caribbean. You may get lucky and just have sunshine and ocean breezes. (Knocking wood that nothing develops in the meantime!)
copnlpn2 Posted September 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Pennies - are you sailing aboard the Enchantment Sept. 20??? If so, I hope to see you aboard! Several close family members and I booked the Enchantment for the 20th several months ago and now can hardly stand the excitement as our sailing date gets closer and closer!! As for packing, this will be my 6th late-summer/fall Caribbean cruise and I've always packed lightweight summer clothes, along with a sweat jacket for cool nights on deck. I find the interior of the ship, most notably the dining areas, to be too cold for my liking - so I always bring a pretty wrap or something to similar to wear, especially when I'm dining..... Have a great cruise, whichever ship you'll be on next week!
