liz000 Posted September 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2008 The web-link at bottom provided by the Miami Hearld. On the way home from your cruise, those duty free bottles my not be so cheap, 1-pound over the weight restriction of (50-lbs) on Delta, will cost $80, worse yet $150 for an over-sized bag one way! Look up your airlines charges and fee's, 1st bag, 2nd bag, over-weight bags and over-size bags. Note: Your carry-on better meet the size limit, the airline can remove it from carry-on and check it in as a second and or extra bag. http://media.miamiherald.com/smedia/2008/07/02/14/MDT_G06_Airlines_Fees.source.prod_affiliate.56.pdf Information on meals, drinks, in-cabin animals and un-accompained children
deenab Posted September 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2008 My bil and sil will be flying back from Miami after our cruise, while we will be driving. Looks like all the booze will be coming with us in our car instead of them checking it on the plane. And we need to get the measuring tape out to make sure the bags aren't over the limit. It's amazing how they are starting to charge for every little thing. jimvern1966 Posted September 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Some airports have UPS stores in them, Tampa Airport does, I would think that sending the luggage may be cheaper. Maybe I'm wrong, just a suggestion.
gargoyle999 Posted September 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2008 I just bought a digital scale made to weight luggage after I saw the $80 fee for over 50lbs. Flying Delta for our Nov cruise and there is now way I'm paying $80 for 51 lbs vs 50!
