cruisinqt Posted October 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2004 We will be heading out on the Conquest this coming Sunday.:D We will be staying at the Hilton Riverside this Saturday, the night before our cruise. My husband has just decided that he's taking a half day off Friday and wants to head out early and stay overnight in Shreveport, La. That's fine with me because we will not be trying to drive the entire 8 hours all in one day. My problem is that we've never stayed in Shreveport or Bossier City and don't know where the safer areas are to stay. My husbands workmates have warned him that some areas of Bossier City and Shreveport are a little seedy and run down and he should be careful about what hotel he stays in. They have no recommendations as to hotels because they all get their rooms comped by the casinos. Does anyone know the area? Could you make a recommendation for us on which hotel to stay in? We don't want to spend a lot since we will just be there very briefly. We don't want a fancy expensive hotel, but we don't want a cheap hotel in a seedy area either. Which areas in Shreveport and Bossier City are newer and which areas are old and run down? We would like to stay in a nice area where the newer hotels are but we don't want to spend much. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! Thanks!:)
kguenther Posted October 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2004 We go to Shreveport often for horse shows. The area really is pretty nice all around....we always stay at the La Quinta in Bossier City. You can also stay at a casino hotel, which are all pretty nice. The LaQuinta is nice, there are restaurants nearby, and the rates are usually very good.
Cotton Posted October 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2004 I replied to your post at the Carnival board. Kim and I do agree about LaQuinta. Never found one I wasn't comfy in - always clean and good comp b'fast.:)
