TravlGrl Posted September 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2008 We were on Carnival Spirit this past New Year's. They had a band playing outside by the pool deck until around 1 a.m. At midnight there was a countdown and a HUGE "2008" light-up sign hanging up high on the ship. At the stroke of midnight the sign was illuminated and there was a bunch of cheering of course. Almost forgot...at dinner they gave us all party favors and hats/crowns and stuff like that for the rest of the evening. It was A LOT of fun! We are going on RCCL's Vision of the Seas this year on NYE. Really looking forward to that!
Karysa Posted September 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2008 NY's Carnival Valor: Band, big screen to see the countdown, free champaign at midnight and the captain blew the horn many, many times at midnight all this was done outside. Ours turned out to be a formal night with a sea day the next day so it was a wonderful way to bring in the New Year. Karysa
