I havent seen anyone suggest Ambergris caye as an excursion for NCL, anyone been here? The river tubing thing is not really interesting to me and we would love to go someplace with some restaurants, bars, beaches and a little shopping, is this the place for us??

I haven't been to Belize yet but am going this December. I have read that Ambergis Caye is a great place to go in Belize. I decided to do the NCL swimming with the stingrays and nurse sharks and snorkeling and then going to San Pedro, Ambergis Caye. Not many tours will stop in Ambergis Caye so went with NCL.

Ambergris Caye is the most populated of all the Cayes. It is home to over 10,000 and its only town is San Pedro. You Can walk around town, Hang out at one of many beach bars. For snorkeling look into a tour that leaves from the cruise ship pier and may stop in San pedro for lunch. San Pedro is a 1.5 hr water taxi from Belize City or a 20 min flight.

I just returned from doing the Shark Ray in San Pedro, WOW! it was

great. The Nurce Sharks, Rays and Hard-Side Jacks were just great.

DW and I took the flight which was also beautiful. I loved the jonny cakes

from Ruby's too. Very nice Cay!
