Quebec City on Sunday?

We will be in Quebec City on a Saturday and Sunday. Will things be open in the city (shops, etc.) on Sunday and if so early in the morning or after lunch. We would like to look for a local street vendor to purchase a piece of art, but will be on an all day tour on Saturday. Will we find anyone out on the street on Sunday? Thanks for your hlep.

Stores should be open on Sunday, although some might open a little later, say 10-11ish, and close around 5pm.

 

Lots of art galleries around the dock area. Also, check out the open-air Rue du Trésor in Upper Town for paintings.

Thank you so much for the advice. We bought a painting from someone along the street when we were in Paris and love it. Hope to do the same while we are in Quebec.

Most retail stores are open from 9AM to 5PM on Saturdays, but only from 11AM to 4PM on Sundays in Quebec. Some smaller stores don't open on Sunday unless they are in a mall or in a tourist area.
