San Pedro Ground Transportation From Pier to Airport

We arriving a day early in CA to visit family so have a ride from the Airport to the pier on Sunday but wondering what is available for transportation from the San Pedro Pier to the OC/John Wayne Airport. We have booked shuttles with cruiseships before only to decide to take taxis rather than wait due to the number of people needing rides on the shuttles, just easier to hop in a cab than wait. I was wondering if anyone on this board could give me a ballpark on how much a taxi would be, I think it is quite a drive, and any info on if RCCL shuttle much cheaper and we should just buck up and take the shuttle cause the taxis would be too much. the distance from the pier at the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro) is approx. 30-35 miles from John Wayne Airport. I've never taken a taxi that route before, but my guess would be that a taxi might cost you between $40-$50.

What about contacting a company like Super Shuttle. I know they provide transportation between the pier and all the airports here in So Cal. They might be cheaper. They have a website, maybe you can check that out.
