There are tons of reviews for the sky in the "reviews" section of this website, which I am sure you already knew. Unfortunately I can't help you much more than that NOW, but I will be sailing on this ship Oct. 20th, so I'll let you know how it was.;)

We enjoyed our three night trip on the Sky in August. It was our first cruise, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but here are some thoughts...

The cabin was quite small (we had an aft balcony cabin), but sufficient for two people for three nights. The balcony was heaven.

Our cabin and most of the public areas were not spotless, but adequately clean.

The buffet was, for the most part base, but not bad. Just by our own tastes, I will say that we really enjoyed having fresh breads and a nice selection of cheeses and fruits available almost constantly. The "cooked" food was just OK.

We enjoyed our meal in the main dining room on "lobster night", and also had very good meals in Cagney's and Le Bistro. Many people have complained about slow service. I don't recall having an issue, but we enjoy dining at a leisurely pace and hate to be rushed, not to mention, we didn't have anywhere to go anyway. If I had to pick, I think our best meal was at Cagney's, only the Oysters Rockefeller were sub-par in my opinion. (Note: We can be food snobs, but try not to be most of the time.)

The pools are small, and they do let kids in the adult pool which is right beside the "everybody" pool, so there's not much difference.

Drinks are pricey! Maybe not more than other cruiselines, but it seemed like most cocktails approached $10 each by the time you had the automatic gratuity on them. They were good though, especially the mojitos, IMO. If you're a drinker, look into getting a bar set up in your room, it will probably save you some money.

My only real complaint is that they have a slogan that encourages you to relax on disembarkation morning. In reality, they really, really want you off the ship. They actually came and stripped our bed, etc... while we were still in our cabin.

Overall, we had a great time...so much so that we bought into the "Buy $250 future cruise credit, get $100 back in OBC" deal and have already booked our next NCL cruise for January on the Jewel.

Hope this helps!

I never posted a formal review but my SO and I cruised on the Sky last month during Faye. We had a wonderful cruise and I am going back on the 6th with my DD.

We stayed in the top level suite AA Owner's Suite. There was plenty of room for two people but still small compared to other ships within the same line.

The ship was nice and well kept however it was not nearly as nice as the Pearl. That being said it is kind of like comparing apples to oranges when you take into consideration the age of the two ships.

The food was great in my opinion. I liked the food on The Sky much better than the food on the Pearl.

The activities on the ship like bingo and trivia were poorly attended and often we were the only people there. Shows were OK.

Butler and Cabin Stewards were awesome and we never wanted for anything.

Embarkation was easy but we were in a suite. We were on the ship 15 mins after arriving at the port around 12:15

Disembarkation was easy we left at 9:45 and were escorted off the ship by the concierge.

I would say if you can stay in a suite do!

We will be staying in an Oceanview, cat D this trip so I will have more to compare when I return from this cruise.
