DVD players?

Can anyone tell me if there are DVD players in the rooms? I have a balcony cabin on Freedom.

No, there are not.

 

We bring our portable DVD player from home.... mostly for our kids. Just some quiet times in the mornings or right before bedtime.

We got one of the cheapest ones at walmart before our last cruise, i think it was maybe $30 it was on RC and they have awful tv, we mainly watched it before bed and in the morning, but it was nice to have something decent to watch, plus it was cheap enough that if we forgot it was hooked to the tv and left it we werent out as much money as a portable one can cost. Then we just keep it and take it on our next cruise.

Someone suggested that I should bring one along for the kids but with the tv's located up in the air, how the heck do you hook it up? Aren't the cables too short? I had a flat-screen on my last cruise and I don't think I could have made it work.

I'd like to know that also....how can you hook up a portable DVD player to the room TV? NEed special cords or anything? Or can you do it at all?

Sorry i cant help with that, my first carnival cruise is coming up. We went on Royal Carribean before and the tv is not up in the air, its on a tv stand. I dont like the fact that the tv is up high. My skull is fused down to C7 so my entire neck is full of screws, rods, and plates. I can not look up, down, or to the side. So it is hard to have a tv up high without laying down. I have this same problem in our training room at work, for any videos i have to sit at the very back of the room. I figure i typically only watch tv on a cruise at bedtime, so if i have downtime i will entertain myself with games on my computer. Or just watch a dvd on my laptop.
