any suggestion on booking rooms on Freedom

My family is going to be taking a cruise next Nov. and we would like to go on the Freedom. We were looking for suggestion on what are the good floors to book that have balconies. The last cruise we did we were on the same deck with the buffet and pools and that worked perfect! Also are the larger balconies worth the money?:)

Personally I love deck 10 as near to the Centrum/main/rear stairway/elevators as possible. This way you are very close to the Windjammer, the pool deck and a short elevator ride (assuming high heels) from the main dining rooms.

Some people complain about "deck chair noise" from the pool deck above, but we haven't experienced that (although we do wake up early).

Everybody has different opinions - am sure that you will love whatever you choose :)

Hi

Side doesn't make that much difference...

Have a look at the deck plans... most people are either "Centre/hump/Centrum (or around that area) peopl" of "Aft" people...

The aft (that is the back of the ship) has BIG balconies, but the view is obstructed. Also the aft is quite a "hike" from everything (especially on Freedom Class). ""Centre/hump/Centrum" is more convenient for everything and you probably feel less movement (not that you generally feel a lot on the bigger ships...).

There is no such thing as a bad balcony on this ship. You may want to pick ones that are close to the elevator/staircase lobby, for convenience sake, otherwise it could be a long walk back to your cabin. (There is a thick wall between the elevator lobby and the cabin passageway that you cannot see on the deck plans, so there is no issue with noise.) We like either deck 10 (because it is one flight up to the pools and the buffet) or deck 6 (because it is closer to the water, and one quick flight down to the promenade, entertainment, dining room, etc). Some people like the decks in-between, because they want passenger cabins above and below them, rather than public space, but we never had a problem with noise from above or below).

I truly believe that you'll be happy with balconies in any location! The dividers between the balconies(except for those along the stern/aft) can be opened, so that you can make one huge balcony, if desired. On Freedom, requests to open the balcony dividers are usually always granted, unless there are some unusual circumstances like high seas.

We were late in booking and 4 other couples in our group all have balcony rooms on great decks. The only outside accommodation still available was on Deck 3 in the center of the ship, no balcony, but what they call "large ocean view". We seem to be near the center staircase.

Originally they wanted us to go on Deck 2 right next to the ice skating rink but I persisted and got moved up a deck to 3. Anyone know anything about Deck 3, Cabin H3262????

Hmmm...3262 is next to The Crypt, which is the bar/disco. I wonder if you could hear the music and partying into the wee hours of the morning?

Which interior cabins are available on upper decks (maybe near one of the balconies of your travelmates?) These might be preferable to an OV on deck 3.

Are you only two people? If so, look into promenade cabins near your travelmate's balconies - these are a nice compromise between OVs and Interiors! Just make sure that if you are deck 6, you aren't directly over a lounge/bar.

If you are more than two people, how about the Family Oceanviews that overlook the heliport?
