Pay Phones in the ports of calls...

Recommended Posts

My BF and I are going on the Carnival Liberty 10/25, with ports of calls in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica.

Do any of you know if they have pay phones on the docks? I can't remember if they did or not.

I thought maybe it would be cheaper to buy an international calling card (yes I am aware they charge more per minute from payphones) and then call from port rather than calling from the ship.

Any ideas or thoughts?

There will be places to buy the phone cards at each port. You'll probably need a new card for each island. So just buy the min. you think you need at that port. Also, the phones you first see are generally on the main street and very noisy. Ask the ship staff the night before and they will tell you where the "less traveled" phones are.

The cards you buy here won't work on the island company phones.
